Men's tennis drops first dual match of 24-25 at Cedarville
CEDARVILLE, Ohio. - A thrilling, three-set win by Axel Sperling was the highlight of the Midway men's tennis team's first dual of the season, as the Eagles suffered a 6-1 loss at Cedarville (Ohio).
Sperling and Logan DeHaven traded 6-3 wins to open the match before playing a highly competitive tiebreak in the decisive third set. Eventually, Sperling would come out on top 10-8.
Daniel Pinzon also Izan Casado also went three sets at Nos. 2 and 5 singles before ultimately falling short.
Pinzon went to a tiebreak against Nathan Hollis in a 6-3, 4-6, 5-10 loss. Casado was defeated 6-4, 1-6, 6-2.
The Eagles have just one more match schedule for the fall. They will travel to Knoxville, Tenn. to face Johnson on Oct. 22.
