Hunt Show closes regular season with Reserve High Point finish
MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway Hunt Seat wrapped an eventful regular season at home at the Midway University Shows on Saturday and Sunday.
The Eagles took Reserve High Point Team honors on Sunday while securing Reserve High Point Team designation for Zone 6, Region 3.
The weekend also saw Jacqueline Raque, Sarah Burkitt and Kayden Gundry qualify for regional competition, Raque reaching in the introductory division, Burkitt in limit fences and Gundry in open flat.
The Eagles also got five first-place finishes from four riders over the two-day competition. On Saturday, Myers Hart took first in limit flat competition, with Samantha Gleason winning in novice.
Reese Dorsey was Midway's top performer on Sunday, winning in limit over fences and limit flat while earning Reserve High Point Rider designation.
Morgan Drath was able to secure a first-place finish in pre-novice as well.
Burkitt was also one of six riders to be honored during a senior day celebration on Sunday, joined by Dylan Abrams, Karissa Atteberry, Jenna Duecker, Jacqueline Raque and Elliette Baker.
The Eagles will now turn their attention to the postseason, when they travel to Oxford, Ohio for the IHSA Regionals next Sunday.
