IUS routs Midway in men's basketball

MIDWAY, Ky. - Indiana Southeast opened up a 14-2 lead early and never relented, sending the Midway men's basketball team to a fourth straight loss in a 102-65 River States rout Thursday.

The Eagles did answer that initial onslaught with a rally, getting as close as 17-14 on a Jalen Cincore 3-pointer and 25-22 on an Isaiah Ramey 3. But with just over four minutes to play in the half, the Grenadiers went up 39-28 on an Armani Carr 3-pointer and the deficit never dropped to single digits again, getting as high as 40 in the second half.

The Grenadiers finished the game 14-of-29 from 3-point range to put up the most points scored by an Eagle opponent this season. IUS also had 27 assists to Midway's six.

Cincore led the Eagles with 22 points and seven rebounds, with Donnie Miller chipping in 14 points.

The win moves Indiana Southeast to 8-10 in conference play while dropping Midway to 7-10. With several RSC Tournament scenarios still in play, the Eagles will host Indiana East in their regular season finale Saturday.

The game, Midway's senior day, will tip at approximately 3 p.m.
