Men's swimming takes third in Sewanee triangular meet
SEWANEE, Tenn. - A runner-up finish in the 200-yard individual medley by Jalen Wright was the highlight for the Midway men's swimming team in a triangle meet at the Sewanee University of the South Saturday.
The Eagles had 255 points as a team, behind the 404 of Sewanee and 265 of Bethel (Tenn.).
Wright finished the 200 IM in 2:15.48 to land in the No. 2 position. Wright also took third in the 200 freestyle (2:01.99) and in the 200 medley and 200 free relays.
Wright, Daniel Maia, Jacob Williams and Brad Blanchard swam a 1:44.69 in the medley, with Wright, Luke Logan, Blanchard and Maia swimming a 1:40.89 in freestyle.
The Eagles, who were in competition for the first time since Nov. 19, will next return to action much sooner than that, traveling to face Shawnee State (Ohio) next Saturday.
