Milner wins twice, men's track places second at Pioneer Invitational
LEXINGTON, Ky. - Two wins by Carson Milner sparked Midway, which had a second-consecutive top-three finish to open the men's outdoor track and field season.
The Eagles, who won the Asbury Invitational last weekend, took second in the 16-team Pioneer Invitational in Lexington with 88points, coming in behind just the 132 of Wittenberg (Ohio).
The star of the day was freshman Milner, who came out on top in the 800- and 1,500-meter runs. He finished the 800 in exactly two minutes, while running a 4:04.04 in the 1,500.
Four other Eagles landed in the top three of their events.
Montez Moore came in second in the 400 hurdles, finishing in 1:10. Elsewhere, Abdul Salaah (100-meter run, 11.09) Connor Baker (high jump, 1.75 meters) and Raush Gill (hammer throw, 45.58 meters) all came in third.
In relays, the 4x100 and 4x400 teams both took fourth. Salaah, Zac Cox, Ben Jones and Jastin Proctor ran a 44.11. In 4x400, Cox, Cole Sexton, Gregory Anderson and Bowen Workman finished in 3:42.97.
