Eagle men earn dominant win at Midway XC Invitational
VERSAILLES, Ky. - Seven different Midway runners placed in the top-20 and the Eagles nabbed the first three spots to take first-place overall at the Midway University Cross Country Invitational Friday.
The Eagles won the all-Kentucky, six-team invite with ease, scoring 29 points, 25 better than runner-up Georgetown.
Leading the way was the trio of Jacob Kocis, Josiah Kocis and Carson Milner, who crossed the line in positions 1-2-3.
Jacob Kocis finished in 25:20.49, Josiah ran a 25:46.25 and Milner came across in 26:17.82. All three came in nearly a minute ahead of Georgetown's Elijah Walters (27:13.96), the evening's fourth-place runner.
Other scorers for Midway were 10th-place Joshua Kocis, who ran a 28:19.54, and 13th-place Connor Byrd who ran a 28:58.02.
Also earning all-tournament, top-20 honors were Lance Logan (17th, 29:28.03) and Steven Meyer (20th, 30:06.53)
The Eagles will look to keep things rolling in a tougher environment on Oct. 5, when they travel to Louisville to take part in the Live in Lou Cross Country Challenge.
