Eagles women place eighth at highly competitive Bowlero Southern Classic
MARIETTA, Ga. - Midway women's bowling took part in a highly competitive, tier-one tournament over the weekend and earned a top-10 finish, placing eighth at the Bowlero Southern Classic, which concluded on Sunday.
The Eagles rolled a 5,240 in the team round and a 3,834 in baker for a final score of 9,074,
The top performance came from Afton Lords, who placed 10th in the 134-bowler field with a score of 1,163 and an average of 193.83.
Lords actually opened play in the lead, as her 252-pin tally was the best of the first game.
Just a few spots behind was Maggie Coleman, who came in 16th with an 1,137 (189.5 average).
The Eagles had two others crack the top-50. Arianna Peter rolled a 1,024 to place 40th, with Avery Reeves coming in 50th at 983.
Next up for Midway is the three-day NAIA BCA Invitational in Jeffersontown, Ky. on Nov. 22-24, the final event before a nearly two-month break in competition.
