Phillips named RSC Women's Golfer of the Week

MIDWAY, Ky. - Maryssa Phillips closed a great fall of play with a River States Conference Women's Golfer of the Week award, the league announced Monday.

This is the first award of the season for Phillips, who also won it twice a season ago.

The sophomore from Lexington tied for seventh place with a 12-over-par, two-day score of 156 at the Firehawk Invitational last Monday and Tuesday. Her play helped the Eagles finish in a tie for the runner-up spot at the tournament.

Midway concluded a strong fall just outside the top-25 in the most recent NAIA National Poll, landing in the 26th spot with 56 vote points. Twenty-fifth ranked Lewis and Clark State (Idaho) got 78 points.

A spring schedule for the Eagles will be posted when it's finalized.
