Three Eagles get All-River States Women's Soccer honors

MIDWAY, Ky. - Midway was well-represented on the River States Women's Soccer All-Conference team released Tuesday, with three Eagles earning recognition.

Evie Clare and Haylee Applegate both made the second team, while Holly Johnstone made the third team as a defender.

Clare, a midfielder, was arguably the most well-rounded offensive player in the RSC, leading the conference with 13 goals and 32 points while also recording six assists, which was fourth in the RSC.

Applegate, who was honored as a forward, was fifth in the conference with eight goals on an RSC-high 75 shots.

Both were all-conference players last season as well. Applegate made the first-team in 2023, Clare the third.

Johnstone earned her first postseason recognition from the league after anchoring the Eagle defense in 2024. The highlight of her season was a game-saving deflection in the final minutes of a senior day win over Freed-Hardeman.
