Repeat! Olivero wins second straight POTW award

MIDWAY, Ky. - She's done it again.

For the second week in a row and the sixth time in her still very young college career, Midway's Agustina Olivero has been named the River States Conference Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Olivera's repeat came after a week in which she went 2-0 in singles play, her second win coming in a thrilling, three-set win over Union's Liliana Drukerova, a top-50 nationally ranked player.

The sophomore from Montevideo, Uruguay closed out her 6-2, 3-6, 11-9 victory on a 40-ball marathon point, which she ended with a shot down the line that an off-balance Drukerova was unable to return.

That performance moved Olivera to 5-1 in singles play on the season. In addition to capturing the award six times, Monday also marked the third time she's won it in consecutive weeks.

The Eagles will play at Campbellsville at 3 p.m. Wednesday before traveling to Indiana Southeast for their RSC opener at 2 p.m. Friday.
