Women's tennis falls to Asbury in truncated match
MIDWAY, Ky. - With daylight waning, Midway and Asbury had to cut their scheduled women's tennis match short Wednesday, with Asbury ultimately winning 4-1.
With a thrilling men's match going long, the dueling Eagles did not play doubles and eventually called things after Asbury earned the clinching point at No. 5 singles.
As she has been for much of the season, Agustina Olivero was the standout for Midway, earning a 6-3, 6-2 win over Ariadna Zegarra at No. 1 singles.
The Eagles are back home Friday, where they will look to improve to 2-0 in River States Conference play against Indiana East. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
