Eagles rally for 4-3 RSC women's tennis win over IU East

MIDWAY, Ky. - Late wins by Grace Froedge and Isabella McKinney at Nos. 5 and 6 singles springboarded Midway to a come-from-behind 4-3 women's tennis win over Indiana East in River States Conference play Friday.

With their team down 3-2, McKinney and Foredge both got straight-set wins to improve Midway's conference record to 2-0. McKinney first defeated Brooke Schafstall 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6 before Froedge got the clinching win 6-3, 6-4 over Laura Billing at No. 5.

All four of Midway's singles wins came in straight sets. No. 1 standout Agustina Olivero continued her hot streak with a 6-0, 6-2 victory against Linda Marino. At No. 4, Paula Rueda defeated Kerstin Ellis 6-2, 6-1.

Olivero and Mara Guillen also got a win at No. 1 doubles, defeating Marino and Eva Caballero 6-3.

Midway looks to stay unbeaten in the RSC on Tuesday in a 2:30 p.m. match at Shawnee State.
