Gottler earns two top-five finishes as women's track completes RSC Outdoor Championships

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Trinity Gottler added two more top-five finishes to her conference resume to lead the Midway women on the second and final day of the River States Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships Friday.

The Eagles, who had 38.5 points at the end of the first day, finished with 65.5 to place seventh. Point Park won going away with 191 points, well ahead of the 122 scored by runner-up Indiana Kokomo.

After taking third in the javelin on Thursday, Gottler finished in the same position in discus Friday with a top throw of 37.55 meters. She also took fifth in the shot put, throwing 11.27.

On top of her athletic accomplishments, Gottler was also Midway's representative on the RSC Champions of Character Team.

Following her third-place finish in the 10,000-meter run on day one, Trinity Smith followed up with a fifth-place time of 19:43.78 in the 5,000 on day two.

In relays, the Eagles finished sixth in both the 4x100 and 4x400. Nevaeh Brown, Nadia Meeks, Natalie Hall and Kashlynn Rice ran a 53.90 in the 4x100, with Brown, Rice, Jasmine Clouse and Stevie McSorley running a 4:24.05 in the 4x400.

Also scoring for Midway was Hall (sixth, 17.60) and Meeks (eighth, 30.54) in the 100 hurdles, MsSorley in the 800 (7th, 2:30.51) and Brown in the 100 (eighth, 12.79).
